Mitigating Risks
The location for my film was my school, which initially posed some risks. However, I was able to identify and address them through the following steps:
Site Inspection: I visited the location multiple times to assess any potential hazards or safety concerns. I identified areas that needed to be secured, such as the gymnasium and parking lot, and ensured that there were no hazardous materials or equipment present.
Weather Check: I monitored the weather forecast and made adjustments to the shooting schedule accordingly. I also made sure to have a backup plan in case of inclement weather. Weather is very cloudy in my area so during the shooting some shots were with a lot of sun light
Liability Insurance: I obtained liability insurance to cover any accidents or injuries that may occur during the shoot.
Communication: I established clear communication with the school's administration and staff, informing them of the filming schedule and any potential disruptions.
Crew Safety: I made sure to provide my crew with safety equipment and training. We had a first aid kit on set and designated safety personnel responsible for addressing any safety concerns that may arise.
By taking these precautions and following safety protocols, I was able to successfully shoot my film at the school location without any incidents or accidents. The location risk analysis not only helped to ensure the safety of everyone involved but also allowed us to focus on the creative aspects of the production.
